Pontnewynydd AFC has two fixtures this weekend. The first being this Friday night against Pontypool Town.
Originally scheduled for Saturday the 26th the fixture had been moved to a Friday night at Pontypool’s request due to them not having enough players available to fulfill the fixture on the 26th as the national team will be playing in the next round of the European championships.
With availability scarce for this fixture Pontnewynydd AFC has had to call several players up from the reserve team to fill the gap.
This is a great opportunity for the younger lads to showcase what they can do at the first-team level. Several reserve team lads will be doing double duty as the reserve team also has a game this weekend.
Pontnewynydd AFC reserve team also have a tough challenge ahead of themselves as they host the mighty Rogerstone.
Rogerstone is a well-established team that formed over 130 years ago and has teams in Gwent premier, N&D premier X, and N&D division 2.
