Pontnewynnydd AFC went into both their fixtures this weekend without Goalkeepers due to injuries, holidays, and festivals. The club would like to take this moment to thank Ash and Danny for stepping between the sticks this past weekend both did extremely well considering.
Pontnewynydd reserves went into their fixture against Crickhowell FC as the underdogs. However, the dragons found themselves a goal up in the first few minutes with a well-placed chip from Owen Morgan from over 25 yards out after a great assist from Kyle Baldwin. Crickhowell FC would draw level just before the break. The game was a back and forth affair with no clear-cut winner. A clinical error with a change of formation seen Crickhowell FC take the lead from the penalty with less than 10 minutes to play. The dragons would again draw level on the 90th minute with a fabulous free-kick from the side’s vice-captain Stephen Farr.
Above all else, the fixture was an even affair with both sides deserving of a point.

Cwmffrdoers home game against Pontypool town was abandoned mid-game after Pontypool took the lead.
Former Pontnewynydd AFC reserve team player-manager Liam Taylor suffered a broken leg which resulted in a no contest for both clubs.
Pontnewynydd AFC would like to take this time to wish Liam a speedy recovery and pray that he will be kicking a ball again very soon.
