Pontnewynydd Reserves v Blaenavon Blues on Matchday 7 of the Gwent Central League Division 2. Pontnewynydd Reserves continue their recent run of form beating Blaenavon Blues 5-2 in the league. The Blues arrived at the ruffets with a team of mixed players. However, Pontnewynydd sticking true to their morales played their reserve side with the exception of Ash who was filling in as the reserve sides Goalkeeper suffered broken ribs against Fairfield and Ewan tested positive on a PCR.
The fixture started slow for both sides although it would be Pont who drew first blood with a brilliant free-kick from Tucker putting the dragons into the lead before the end of the half.

It wouldn’t take long into the 2nd half for Newydd to get their 2nd of the day with vice-captain Steve getting his first with an assist from Ash. Blues would regain a goal moments later. Furthermore, blues could have leveled the game from the spot. However, Ash made the save only for Blues to score moments later to draw level. Stephen Farr put the dragons back into the lead 10 minutes later followed up only a moment later with a goal for Sion who tributed his goal to his Grandfarther. Not be one-upped by anyone Stephen Farr would get his hattrick moments later.

Thanks for the messages. The good news is there is nothing broken but there are some bone fragments that have broken off which might not have been caused yesterday. Looks like a good bit of rest and physio thankfully
