New Managers appointed

New managers appointed at Pontnewynydd AFC. After a moderately successful season for both #pontdragons sides a managerial change is on the cards for the 2022/23 season in Gwent Central.

New First Team Managers

After finishing third in Gwent central Division two in his first season, reserve team manager Harry Furness has stepped up to head the first team for the 2022/23 Season. Harry will be taking over from Phil Paine as head coach going forth. Harry has shown the desire and commitment to push the club forward and is eager to take on the challenge of his new role. The 2022/23 season will not only be Harry’s second season with Pontnewynydd AFC but also his second season as a manager.

Pontnewynydd AFC would like to thank Phil Paine for the fantastic job he has done with the first team since the club’s conception back in 2018.

New Second Team Managers

Phil Paine will become the new manager of the second team for the forthcoming season. Phil will continue his role as club director and new reserve team manager going forth. Phil will be taking some time away from the club as he undergoes an operation sometime this season and is confident that the first team would be safe in Harry’s hands.

With Phil potentially looking to take some time away from his club duties this season with his pending operation, Phil has also enlisted the help of Nathaniel George who will also step up as the reserve team coach and will aid in the running of the reserve team in Phil’s absence.
